A rough week for me; three days sick, with two separate illnesses. Most recently, 48 hours coughing, sniffling and sweating and next to no sleep. Body clock is upside-down, which is why I’m writing this at 23:47 on a Friday night ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Being poorly added to the anxiety I was already feeling ahead of a trip to see my ageing parents. The last thing I want to do is take any kind of lurgy up to them with me, especially the ‘rona, but a series of tests say I’m clear🤞🙏

I attended an online session organised by the Progression team: “Frameworks and how not to tear your hair out”. A lot of what was covered was stuff I was familiar with but it was done well and with bags of charm from Meg and Jonny. I’ll be sure to catch up with the other sessions when I’m back at work. 📈

Had excellent 1:1s with Beth, Chanelle and a particularly great chat with my manager Coca. Sad that I had to miss long-overdue 1:1s with others due to sickness. After I’m back from seeing the folks, I’m looking forward to a lot of in-person conversations with colleagues I haven’t seen in yonks and others I’m yet to meet 💛

I ran a design workshop for the York and Humber Care Record project, where we took the sketches from our prior session to the next level of fidelity. It was super productive and collaborative. I used Miro to make some polished(ish) visuals that everyone attending could manipulate; in the end the conversation flowed well enough that I could push all the pixels while we all contributed to the discourse. Such a good way of working.

This paragraph is specifically for the people I’ve spoken to recently who find writing weeknotes challenging. You know who you are 💚 I’ve missed some weeks lately putting something out there. I’ve written short, boring notes. But a former colleague I respect highly told me this week that she reads and enjoys them. So keep plugging away writing and publishing, because you never know who your words will touch.
